Provider administrators are responsible for the complete managment of all aspects of the Provider, this includes creating resources for the Provider as well as the ability to manage visibility and accessibility settings for all the reaources. The Provider admin also has the ability to administer all settings of the resources as well creating and applying pricing structures for use of the resources. The Provider admin is alo able to create other roles for their resources such as Resource admin.

A provider is affiliated to an organization and can be regarded as a “smaller unit.”
In openIRIS, resources and services are offered through providers, which represent the institutional entities responsible for offering research infrastructure such as institutes, core facilities, working groups, and technical facilities.
A provider is required to create resources and assign usage rights. The provider makes the resources available to users.
A organisation can have organisation provider admin's in place. They have the roles of organization admin as well as provider admin for all Providers of that organization, and can not be removed as a Provider admin. They are listed together with normal providers and denoted with Organisation provider admin.
